Submitted by Judith S., AR LPN
Instructions
1. Prepare the cake. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the Chocolate Fudge cake mix, eggs, and cherry pie filling. Mix well until fully combined. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. 2. Poke holes in the cake. Once the cake
is out of the oven, use a straw or similar tool to poke holes evenly across the surface of the warm cake. 3. While the cake is baking, make the frosting. In a saucepan, melt the butter or margarine over medium heat. Add the evaporated milk and sugar, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil and let it boil for 1 minute. Remove
from heat and stir in the mini chocolate chips until fully melted and smooth. 4. Assemble. Pour the warm frosting evenly over the warm cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. 5. Cool and serve. Let the cake cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
