Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to the Upper Quarter: Summary

○ Some may choose to end with IASTM as well ○ For a more advanced treatment, place the targeted tissue on stretch while performing

■ May cause ecchymosis but not bruising or bleeding ■ Will see more redness when working over a trigger point • Treatment Sequence ○ Warm up prior to treatment (active or passively) → IASTM → corrective exercises → ice (potentially)
