*Includes 3 CREDITS of Pain & Symptom Management including Opioid & Controlled Substance Awareness Training This course satisfies eight (8) hours on the DEA’s new one-time MATE requirement AND/OR three (3) AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM in pain and symptom management including opioids and controlled substance awareness. Effective June 27, 2023, renewing DEA-registered practitioners must complete eight (8) hours of one- time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or substance use disorders. The Michigan Boards of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery require all physicians (MD/ DO) to complete a minimum of three (3) AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM or equivalent in pain and symptom management. Additionally, beginning in 2022, licensees who prescribe controlled substances must complete a one-time training in opioids and controlled substance awareness.
