DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA PHYSICIAN
Dear Colleagues,
As a condition of license renewal, all health professionals must complete at least ten percent (10%) of the required total continuing education in the public health priorities of the District, including responsible opioid prescribing and effective pain management. In addition to the 10% rule, licensed health professionals are required to complete two (2) credit hours in the subject of LGBTQ cultural competency. Physicians (MD/DO) must also complete at least one (1) course in the subject of pharmacology.
Need to complete the DEA’s new requirement under the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act?
InforMed has the solution. Scan the QR code or go to https://uqr.to/deamate to get started. Effective June 27, 2023, renewing DEA-registered practitioners must complete 8 credit hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or substance use disorders. Get the training you need in a self-paced, convenient format with a course specifically designed for physicians to meet the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)’s new requirement under the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act.
The InforMed District of Columbia Medical Licensure Program is designed to streamline the education requirements of the District of Columbia Board of Medicine. Completion of the program satisfies professional credentialing requirements for one (1) course in pharmacology, five (5) credit hours in cultural competency for LGBTQ patients, and the 10% rule in public health priorities.
