NEW YORK STATE MANDATORY TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Dear Colleagues,
The InforMed New York Medical Licensure Program is designed to fulfill the mandatory CME requirement for physicians licensed by the state of New York. Completion of the program satisfies New York’s three (3) credit hour requirement on pain management, palliative care and addiction, as well as fulfilling the mandatory department approved infection control training requirement. Pursuant to Public Health Law (PHL) §3309-a(3), New York prescribers licensed under Title Eight of the Education Law who have a DEA registration to prescribe controlled substances must complete at least three (3) credit hours of course work or training in pain management, palliative care, and addiction prior to your attestation deadline (see inside front cover). Additionally, every physician (MD/DO) and physician assistant practicing in the state of New York shall complete course work or training approved by the Department of Health regarding infection control once every four (4) years.
